Strong experience can still get lost in a weak answer.
You may have the accounting experience the employer needs. The interview is where you have to organize it, explain it at the right level, and make your actual value easy to understand.
Rambling answers
You know the experience, but the answer runs too long and the strongest point gets buried.
Generic stories
Your answer sounds polished but could apply to almost any candidate in any profession.
Hidden technical depth
You list forms, engagements, or responsibilities without showing complexity, judgment, or ownership.
Weak leadership signals
You undersell how you review work, guide staff, manage clients, solve problems, or move work forward.
Difficult career questions
Job changes, employment gaps, weaknesses, compensation, or career goals catch you without a clear response.
Nerves under pressure
You freeze, rush, sound rehearsed, or lose confidence when the interviewer asks a follow-up question.
Without focused practice, technical depth, leadership, judgment, and client ownership can remain buried inside long or vague answers. The goal is not to become someone different. It is to communicate your real experience more effectively.
Generic interview advice stops where accounting gets specific.
Accounting interviews require more than memorizing a list of common questions. You need to explain the work behind your resume with the depth and ownership expected at your target level.
Advice that stays on the surface
- Use the STAR method
- Make eye contact and speak confidently
- Prepare a strength and a weakness
- Practice broad behavioral questions
- Learn polished answers that may sound rehearsed
Practice grounded in the work
- Explain tax, audit, accounting, or finance experience clearly
- Show technical scope, complexity, judgment, and ownership
- Match your examples to the seniority of the target role
- Prepare for recruiter, manager, partner, and panel perspectives
- Sound credible and prepared without sounding scripted
Whether you work on 1040s, 1065s, 1120S returns, provisions, audits, month-end close, or financial reporting, the goal is not to recite terminology. It is to explain your scope, complexity, judgment, and ownership at the level of the role you want.
Focused preparation built around your actual interview.
We use your resume, target position, interview format, and concerns to decide what deserves the most attention. Your first session starts with a live mock interview so we can establish an honest baseline before making changes.

Send your context
Share your resume, job description, interview details, and the questions or situations giving you trouble.
Start with a baseline mock
Answer realistic questions live with Cameron before coaching begins so we can hear what is already working and where your message gets lost.
Review and improve
Use your recording, written recap, feedback, and custom questions to keep improving after the call.
Real practice with Cameron, not an AI interviewer.
You answer questions in a live remote conversation, respond to real follow-ups, receive direct feedback, and adjust your delivery with Cameron in the room.
A three-session process gives your answers time to improve.
We establish your baseline first, coach the highest-impact changes, and then test those improvements in another realistic mock interview.
Baseline mock interview
Start with a live mock interview before coaching the answers. We identify your natural strengths, communication gaps, difficult questions, and the stories that need the most work.
Targeted coaching and practice
Build stronger answer structures, turn written drafts into natural spoken responses, and practice technical, behavioral, leadership, and transition questions.
Follow-up mock and final polish
Put the changes into practice under realistic pressure, handle follow-up questions, tighten remaining weak spots, and leave with a focused final practice plan.
Every session is remote, runs 60 minutes, and includes a recording, written recap, and custom practice questions.
Every session is live and led personally by Cameron, not an AI simulation or prerecorded course.
Every session gives you more than an hour on a video call.
You receive live coaching from Cameron plus materials you can review and use for continued practice.
Write it first. Then make it sound like you.
Scripting is useful because it helps organize your facts before the pressure of an interview. The next step is rewriting for the ear so the answer sounds prepared, specific, and natural when you say it out loud.
A necessary starting point
“In my current position, I am responsible for the preparation and review of partnership and S corporation tax returns for closely held business entities. My responsibilities include trial balance cleanup, book-to-tax adjustments, client communication, and the resolution of review comments.”
The same substance in your voice
“So, in my current role, I mainly work on 1065 and 1120S returns for privately held businesses. I usually handle the returns from start to finish. That includes requesting PBCs, rolling forward and preparing the workpapers, entering the returns into the tax software, and following up with clients on open items. I’ve also started reviewing work and trying to get ahead of review notes before the returns reach my manager.”
The goal is not to eliminate scripting. It is to build a script that still sounds like you when you say it.
Practice the questions and situations that actually matter for your interview.
Your session can combine broad interview preparation with targeted work on one firm, job description, panel, or difficult part of your career story.
“Tell me about yourself”
Behavioral and situational questions
Tax, audit, accounting, or finance experience
Technical experience and resume deep dives
Leadership, review, and mentoring examples
Client-facing communication and ownership
Career transitions and employment gaps
Reasons for leaving or making a change
Strengths, weaknesses, and career goals
Compensation and expectation questions
Questions to ask the interviewer
Confidence, pacing, tone, and conciseness
Work with someone who understands both sides of the interview.
Your preparation is informed by accounting experience, recruiting conversations, and direct work with candidates navigating real interviews.

Questions about accounting interview preparation?
A few practical answers before you book.
Who is this interview preparation for?
It is designed for accounting students, recent graduates, and experienced professionals preparing for tax, audit, public accounting, corporate accounting, finance, senior, manager, or leadership interviews. It can also help with internships, campus recruiting, promotions, career changes, reentry, and difficult employment transitions.
Can students book interview preparation?
Yes. Students and recent graduates can prepare for Meet the Firms, internships, campus recruiting, entry-level public accounting roles, and first professional interviews. The questions and feedback are adjusted to the experience you actually have, so you will not be expected to answer like an experienced hire.
Will I work directly with Cameron?
Yes. Every session is a live, one-on-one remote conversation with Cameron. You are not purchasing an AI interview simulation, prerecorded course, chatbot, or automated score.
What should I send before the session?
Send your current resume, the job description when available, the firm or company name, the interview format, and any questions or situations you are especially concerned about. More context allows for more targeted preparation.
What happens during a session?
Your first session begins with a live mock interview to establish a baseline. From there, we identify what is working, where your message gets lost, and which answers need the most attention. The remaining time may include direct feedback, answer strategy, resume deep dives, follow-up questions, delivery coaching, and targeted practice.
Will we practice technical accounting questions?
We can practice explaining your tax, audit, accounting, or finance experience and work through technical follow-ups relevant to your background. The focus is on communicating what you genuinely know and have done. Cameron cannot know or promise the exact questions an employer will ask.
Are sessions remote and recorded?
Yes. Sessions are held remotely and include a recording so you can review your answers, delivery, and feedback afterward.
Do I need to dress up for the mock interview?
It is recommended, but not required. The key is knowing that you feel comfortable and can communicate naturally in the outfit you plan to wear to the actual interview. If you have not tested it yet, wear it to the mock interview. If you already know it works for you, casual clothes are completely fine for practice.
What written follow-up will I receive?
You will receive written feedback and a recap of the most important observations, along with custom practice questions based on your background and target interview.
How many sessions should I book?
The three-session package is recommended when you have time to establish a baseline, build your messaging, practice targeted improvements, and complete a follow-up mock interview. A single session is available when your interview is approaching quickly or you want help with a focused set of questions.
Do I have to schedule all three sessions at once?
No. You pay once for the complete package, then schedule your first session. You can book sessions two and three later when your availability is clearer. If none of the listed times work, contact Cameron at cameron@rezzycheck.com and we will make it work.
Do you guarantee that I will receive an offer?
No. Interview preparation cannot guarantee an interview, promotion, or job offer. The goal is to help you communicate more clearly, practice more effectively, and present your real experience with greater confidence and credibility.
Your experience is already there. Let’s make sure your answers show it.
Build clearer stories, practice difficult questions, and walk into the interview with a stronger understanding of what you want to communicate.
